Blackberries give you life!
I love anything blackberry flavored - sweets, drinks, cocktails, etc. Have you ever had blackberry liquer with whiskey? Amazing! But that's not what we're here for. I'm here to tell you the benefits of blackberries so you won't keep passing them up in the grocery store. I mean, all fruit is beneficial, but blackberries are on a whole other level, and there are levels to this healthy life.
Here are 4 benefits of blackberries:
1. Blackberries contain Vitamin A and Vitamin C which both are responsible for forming collagen. They also act as antioxidants and assist in the skin-renewal process. Want better looking skin? Eat blackberries regularly!
2. Bleeding gums or gingivitis? Leaves and bark of blackberries can treat mild gum disease. I'm sure you won't go chopping down blackberry bark in the middle of the night for your sore gums, but I thought it was cool to know, so yea.
3. Heavy periods? The leaves of blackberries can help relieve excess bleeding during your menstrual cycle and can help regulate your period.
4. Cancer prevention. The Ellagic acid in blackberries can help in cancer cell growth prevention. Cancer sucks. Blackberries don't.
There are tons more benefits from this tiny little fruit and I'll have a future post soon on how to cook with them!
