Georgia Peach Smoothie
We all know Georgia is known for its peaches. And since I live in Georgia I whole-heartedly embrace that glorious peachiness. I wanted to try something a little more sweet than my usual smoothies... something that falls under the category of indulgent if you will. I made this recipe on Father's Day and both my fiance and step son LOVED it. Again, it draws a slight bit away from the "ALL NATURAL" smoothie I go for, but that's okay because just a little bit of indulgence never killed anyone and is OKAY every once in a blue moon. We work so hard all the time on our healthy and clean diets right?
Soooo here's the recipe to my cheat meal/ indulgent Georgia Peach Smoothie :). Oh, and I topped my recipe with rum for my fiance for Father's Day for a little treat!
You will need:
- 5 Peaches
- ice
- low fat vanilla yogurt
- cinnamon
- sugar
- vanilla extract
1. Peel and slice four ripe peaches. This should be enough for nearly 2 cups of peaches depending on how large or small your peaches are.
2. Place 2 cups ice in your blender
3. Add peaches.
4. Add 5 oz of low-fat vanilla yogurt or 1 cup of low-fat vanilla yogurt. Any brand will do.
5. Add 1/2 cup of water.
6. Add 1/2 cup of sugar (raw cane sugar or brown sugar is best!)
7. Add 1 tbsp vanilla extract
8. Blend for about 1 minute.
9. Pour into glasses and top with cinnamon sprinkle and 1 tbsp dark rum for an adult beverage. Use your last peach for garnish.
Enjoy!
