Berry Yogurt Swirl

Honesty moment - I don't like yogurt. I don't like the thick, gagging consistency or the overwhelming dairy taste that exudes from that white lump of goop. Eating plain yogurt is pure torture for me, BUT flavored yogurt with some added fruit flair is actually a breakfast meal I look forward to. It's just like how some people ( by some people I totally mean myself) can't consume "naked" milk but can chug a whole gallon along with a good ol' box of cereal (French Toast Crunch stood no chance against me in my earlier years).

So why even force myself to eat yogurt if I hate it so much? Why bother trying to jazz it up if I hate it so much? There's plenty of other healthy food I can try. Well, as a woman especially, yogurt offers some serious health benefits. Protein, calcium, Vitamin B-12- yes! But the big word you're probably hearing so much nowadays... PROBIOTICS. These are friendly little bacteria that promote digestive health. That means if you suffer from gut issues like diarrhea, constipation, IBS, etc., the probiotics in yogurt could make life a little easier. Plenty studies even suggest consuming yogurt can help prevent vaginal infections and boost your immune system.

Hearing those health benefits make me want to incorporate the aforementioned "goop" into my life!

So here's how to make it more tasty for those like me...

You'll need...

- Plain Greek or Coconut yogurt

- Organic blackberries and blueberries

- Organic caramel, almond butter or peanut butter

- Lemon

Preparation....

-Warm your berries on the stove top over medium heat for about 5 mins

-Add your warmed berries to your yogurt in a bowl and mix generously. Drizzle your sweetener (caramel, almond butter or peanut butter) in your yogurt and add a few lemon slices for some fresh zest if you'd like! You can truly make this easy recipe your own.
