Sunday Waffles
What’s better than Sunday mornings and waffles? If I’m not doing a challenge, I typically like to whip up something more indulgent on the weekends, and waffles are my fave!
Here’s the recipe below!
1 1/3 cup flour
4 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
1 3/4 cup milk
2 eggs separated
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp vanilla flavor
Use a whisk to mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl.
Add the yolk from the separated eggs to the dry ingredients
Place the whites in a small mixing bowl and beat until stiff and peaks form.
Add butter and milk to mixed dry ingredient bowl and blend.
Fold the stiff egg whites to the mixture.
Add the batter to a hot and lightly greased waffle iron and remove when done.
I spray mine with Bakers Joy. I use my 1cup sized measuring cup to scoop the batter until the iron is about 75% covered with batter.
This recipe was inspired by Genius Kitchen. I simply added vanilla!
Also, I warmed the syrup with a few blackberries in a small bowl over in the microwave and drizzled on top which made this heavenly!
